Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung Palace is in the heart of Seoul and is one of the biggest tourist attractions in all of Korea. We headed to the Palace on the subway and when we got off at our exit, there was a big sign that said "palace closed Tuesdays". It was Tuesday. But we decided to go anyway. We walked around outside the gates, and it was deserted (see the last picture). I few minutes later, the grounds started filling up with people and the ticket booths started opening. I don't know how we got so lucky, or why this Tuesday was different, but we were so grateful!  You can read more of the palace's history HERE if you'd like. There are several buildings within the palace walls, lots of things to see! There is a museum on the grounds that has all sorts of things from Korea history, very cool! We also got to see a cultural demonstration that they put on right outside the palace gates.

Glad we somehow lucked out and were able to see this incredible place!
